TORONTO, June 22, 2021 – Whitehorse Liquidity Partners (together with its affiliates, “Whitehorse”), a specialized investment manager focused on providing structured liquidity solutions to private equity portfolios, is pleased to announce a number of promotions and the expansion of the partnership.

Through the promotion of Marilia Bothamley (Finance & Fund Operations), Julian Mirsky (Strategic Management), Sebastien Siou (Asset Management), Joshua Booth (Capital Management) and Derek Miners (Portfolio Management), Whitehorse has expanded the partnership from five to ten partners.

“We are proud to welcome Marilia, Julian, Sebastien, Josh and Derek to the partnership. Each of our new partners has been instrumental to the growth of the firm, embodies the Whitehorse culture and is a leader within our multi-faceted organization,” said Yann Robard, Managing Partner of Whitehorse.  “With new partner representation across all five pillars of the firm, the Whitehorse Senior Leadership Team embraces diversity in experience, skillset and thought leadership. We are confident that this approach to building Whitehorse will enable us to continue to operate nimbly and successfully as one team.”

“As market adoption of Whitehorse’s unique approach has grown, so has our team.  We expect that our team will have grown to 100 over the coming weeks from 46 at the start of 2020.” said Yann Robard. “We have built our team alongside the substantial market opportunity we have created, more than doubling our team during the pandemic. Our goal is to ensure we continue to scale successfully by focusing on our culture, diversity and quality.”

“The admission of our new partners represents a doubling in size of Whitehorse’s partnership,” remarked Michael Gubbels, Partner of Whitehorse. “This is a significant milestone for Whitehorse as we continue to thoughtfully build the business in response to market adoption of our product.”

“Marilia joined Whitehorse in March 2017 and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in February 2020. During her time at Whitehorse, she led the buildout of the firm’s operations department from the ground up,” said Leah Boyd, Partner of Whitehorse. “Today, she leads a team of 28 Finance & Fund Operations professionals and is involved in all strategic finance and operations matters at the firm. She has built a best in class, client-oriented team of professionals focused on servicing the needs of our limited partners.”

“Julian joined Whitehorse in May 2017 and has made invaluable contributions to the firm,” said Yann Robard. “Julian began his Whitehorse journey as an investment professional on the deal team and has been responsible for the execution of several of Whitehorse’s largest transactions. In 2020, Julian transitioned to Strategic Management where he is spearheading a number of important firm-level strategic initiatives. We expect he will continue to play a critical role in the growth and evolution of our organization.”

“Joining Whitehorse in July 2019, Sebastien made an immediate impact on our deal team. He has contributed significant experience in secondaries transactions, spanning traditional acquisitions of limited partner interests, fund recapitalizations, team spin-outs and structured transactions, while also leveraging his deep relationships within the industry,” said Giorgio Riva, Partner of Whitehorse. “Sebastien brings a passion and drive to secondaries investing and has established himself as a leader both in the market and to our Asset Management team.”

“Josh joined in October 2019, bringing significant expertise and deep relationships in the private equity market to the Capital Management function at Whitehorse,” said Michael Gubbels. “He has been instrumental, not only in leading our most recently closed fundraise, but also in shaping our fundraising and investor relations function as a whole and building a team to support the growth of our investor base.”

“Derek joined Whitehorse in December 2019, immediately leveraging a breadth of experience across private markets to establish the Portfolio Management pillar at Whitehorse,” said Rob Gavin, Partner of Whitehorse. “Since joining, Derek has successfully established the Portfolio Management function, executing across three core functional sub-pillars: Portfolio Construction, Fund Management and Liquidity Management.”

Whitehorse is also pleased to announce the promotion of Jamie Tucker and Nadeem Kheraj to Senior Principal, Asset Management and Xu Shi to Director, Investment Finance.

“Jamie joined Whitehorse in April 2018 and has been an integral member of the deal team,” said Giorgio Riva. “Jamie has been involved in some of our largest and most complex transactions. He has also helped to shape future generations of secondaries talent through his development of an onboarding program for new joiners at Whitehorse. Jamie’s impact on the market was recognized in 2020 through his selection as a Next Gen Leader by Secondaries Investor.”

“Nadeem joined Whitehorse in July 2019, pairing a deep knowledge of the secondary market with a strong investment acumen,” said Rob Gavin. “He has played a leading role on a large number of transactions at Whitehorse while also contributing to strategic investment office initiatives. He has also established himself as a leader on our deal team, coaching and mentoring junior talent.”

“Having joined Whitehorse in January 2018, Xu is one of the longest standing members of the Finance & Fund Operations team,” said Leah Boyd. “Xu has been instrumental in building a strong team of operations professionals and introducing significant operational efficiencies through process improvements and leveraging technology. He embodies the Whitehorse culture through his work ethic and collaborative approach to leadership.”

Yann Robard concluded, “We consider ourselves fortunate to be surrounded by a high-performing team that shares our core values of partnership, integrity and performance. We are very pleased with the promotions we have announced today and with the expansion of our partnership and team. We remain committed to building our platform ahead of complexity to enable us to capture the market opportunity we have created.
